"Something's Gotta Give" 7/12/19

Dirt Track Racer's new album, "Something's Gotta Give," is set for release July 12, 2019 and will be available to DJ's and Radio Programmers through AirPlay Direct and by physical CD as of that date.  The twelve song set builds on 2014's "Kick Off Your Muddy Boots," with eight original tunes and four covers of folk and blues classics, including Blind Blake's "Police Dog Blues" and "He's In The Jailhouse Now," Huddie Ledbetter's "Alabama Bound," and the traditional "The Water Is Wide."  As on their first album, DTR shifts seamlessly between roots rock, folk, blues, jazz and latin stylings.  On "Something's Gotta Give," we'll hear the band moving slightly more electric, while Geoff Hansplant splits the lead vocal duties with Julie Myers.  The featured singles are the title track, "Something's Gotta Give," and "I Won't Be Here When You Get Home," but there are gems throughout, including a foot-stompin' stride guitar take on "He's In The Jailhouse Now," the latin-infused "One To Tango," and Geoff and Julie's duet on "Ghost In Midnight Blue."  It is an album, sure to please.
